Man in the Mirror

7 days since I relocated to the new apartment. Things turn out to be not so perfect as it seems to be but I’m content.

The mirror might be the biggest one ever installed in the washroom, next to my room. Whenever doing some washing I would take a glance subconsciously. It’s curiosity rather than narcissism that makes me do so. The mirror  does not need cleaning and is ever-crystal-clear.

The wall was papered blue, a calming color that was in my mind. I also got a summer pillow and a silky quilt. Undoubtedly I sleep soundly every night. I’m on the 10th floor, mosquitoes unable to fight a battle with me.

Water is a big problem as it’s often cut off due to some technical difficulties. Besides that the elevators break down frequently. Noises are another annoyance since a new library is under construction. The building is so far the newest one on campus, but I’ve found dozens of cracks on the wall, hoping it won’t collapse someday during my stay.

Well, at last but not least, while looking at myself in the mirror, I’m old, without a wrinkling face, but, a senile and fragile heart inside.
